At the last minute we’ve added a whole heap of new cards in the game, effectively doubling the card count since the last Beta Showdown and almost reaching a full set in the Arcane and Beast Hunter factions. We’ve also made some tweaks to core gameplay mechanics including Mana, Golem Health, and Hand Size.

Patch Notes

Deck Builder:

  • Deck builder turned on including Create, Edit, Save and Delete functionality
  • 3 card duplicate limit has been reduced to 2

Mechanic Updates:

  • Mana gain now capped at 10 instead of 6 (can still go over cap with certain cards)
  • Golems now start with 30 HP (also 30 max, cannot heal above 30)
  • Max hand size upped from 7 to 10
  • Poison Mechanic now grants a permanent -1 Strength and -1 Health Debuff, ignoring armour
  • Buffs and other spell effects are now stackable

Card Updates:

  • 40+ New cards added
  • Existing cards have been reevaluated and modified for balance
  • Old cards previously removed have been reworked and reintroduced to the game
  • Existing cards and Warriors have been renamed
  • New Warrior added, Abe the Ambitious, a 1 Mana 1/2 Warrior that can trade 1 health for 1 attack
  • Player 2 now receives two 0 cost cards on turn 1: “Blink” (mini teleport) and “Mana” (Gain 1 Mana this Turn)

Card Art & VFX:

  • Card Art updates
  • New projectile effects, including Arrows, Fireballs and Magic Missiles
  • Spells, effects and board state VFX overhauled

UI Updates:

  • Faction badges on cards are now functional
  • Ranged attack icons now functional
  • Legacy control point counter removed from HUD
  • Placeholder “35 Rank Achieved” notice has been eliminated

Bug Fixes & Adjustments:

  • White hexes that would linger have been taken out fixed
  • Removed points achieved notifications from both the defeat and victory screens

Known Bugs

  • Test mode has assorted UI and other issues
  • Clicking on any of your cards on turn 1 will remove ability to Mulligan
  • After playing several games all units may default to same textures, restarting game fixes this
  • When opening/editing a deck in the deckbuilder the Commanding Warrior will set to Bloodmage Tharn by default, every time you open a deck you need to reselect your warrior and hit the Save button
  • When dragging cards to scroll in the deck builder they may accidentally get added to your deck
  • Card preview in deckbuilder temporarily disabled
  • The only way to get out of the deckbuilder is by clicking “Play Battlegrounds” button after saving a deck
  • Deckbuilder mana curve indicator not currently accurate / updating
  • Teleporting a unit onto a tree will not teleport the unit and “waste” the card
  • Some last minute cards are playing improper or default VFX
  • Arcane Net plays Freeze VFX
